Dowsing
Pictorials have been dated as far back as 8000 BC., on African cave paintings. Dowsers have been renowned and also banished as working with witchcraft or just plain guess work. Today in our material and scientific world the fact still stands that dowsing is looked at as a non-scientifically, divining and new age perspective. Though many of us know the benefits and know that dowsing really does work.
Dowsing is a perceptual system, and all our ways of perceiving things are limited by the paradox 'Things have not only to be seen to be believed, but also have to be believed to be seen'. (People seeing what they want or expect to see.) So a dowser's beliefs about dowsing, the theories and assumptions on which he or she operates, limit not only what they see but also how they see it.
Scientifically, dowsing is the result of the perception of 'electromagnetic radiations' giving us a reaction in our nervous systems that in turn give us an answer. Spiritually, it is our higher self’s answers to ourselves.
Dowsing is in affect an aspect of kinesiology where the subconscious with the subtle energy fields use the L-rods, or any divining tool, to give us the answers to the questions we transpose.

We should always remember that not all is how it seems and there is so much more in this universe that we still do not understand. Always keep an open mind.

Instructions on how to use dowsing rods
In working with the metal rods, it is important to hold them correctly to enable you to pick up marginal changes. One or two rods may be used - for general dowsing, two rods is preferred. Taking the short end of the rod(s), rest it over your first three fingers, sit the pointed end of the rod on your little finger and use the thumb to stabilize the rod at the back. Curl your fingers around the rod and it should now point out with the long end (the right angle to the piece in your hand) pointing away from you. This is the most effective way for holding a dowsing rod of this type. The thumb is actually unnecessary as the rod should balance just on the fingers, however the thumb gives a little stability so you do not drop it as easily. Make sure the thumb is just resting on the rod and not holding it, as any force here could prevent the rod from moving freely.
